Membership Level

AFAR Membership is open to individuals of all job functions and levels of experience who are interested in the carrying out forensic research and practice. Our mission is to build a vibrant and supportive atmosphere for researchers, practitioners and scholars by markedly expanding opportunities to connect and explore ideas in the Forensic Accounting, Forensic Audit, Forensic Taxation, Forensic Internal Auditing and Forensic Investigation, Investigative Accounting and Fraud Examination, Litigation Support among others.

Membership grade as follows;
1. Graduate Member (GFAR)
2. Associate Member (AFAR)
3. Fellow Member (FFAR)

Graduate Membership (GFAR)
Graduate membership level is open to the holders of HND/BSc/LLB in Forensic Accounting and other Social and Managerial Sciences including Law with no less than 3 years’ experience.

Associate Membership (AFAR)
Associate membership is open to the holders of Masters of Science in Forensic Accounting and other Social and Managerial Sciences with more than five (5) years cumulative working experience. Or a GFAR with not less than 3 years on AFAR membership level. Or must have authored a book and articles in forensics and hold other related professional qualification(s).

Fellow Membership (FFAR)
This is the highest membership level of the association.

This membership level is open to:
1. the holders of PhD in Forensic Accounting/Fraud Examination and other Social and Managerial Sciences including Law with not less than five (5) years post qualification experience; or
2. an AFAR of not less than five years on AFAR level with evidence of other related forensic accounting/fraud examination certification; or
3. Fellow or Certified members of other related professional bodies including legal profession with more than ten (10) years cumulative working experience in relevant fields;
